“What platform should I build my funnel on?”
I hear this aaaaaaaaaaall the time and you better believe I’ve got opinions. From the ugly to the underwhelming, keep reading to learn about the three platforms I use to run my business – plus the ones I avoid (cough, cough, LeadPages).
ClickFunnels
I love ClickFunnels. I’ve been using it for years because it has everything I need in one stop. I build all my funnel pages here, including sales pages. And with order forms that integrate directly with Stripe, checkout pages are a breeze. Plus, the builder is solid enough to let you design pretty pages.
What I love:
- The page builder. Being a designer, my funnels HAVE to look good or I look bad. The builder’s easy to use and you don’t have to use any code to get a great design.
- It keeps all your funnel pages together. This is great because if you have multiple funnels with multiple pages, it’s going to get confusing AF really quick. ClickFunnels keeps the pages for each funnel grouped together separately to keep the chaos under control.
- One click upsells and order bumps. The easier you make it for the customer to buy, the more sales you’re gonna make. Plus it’s simple to set up.
- Includes membership sites for your products. When you’re just starting out, all the subscription services can add up and seem like a lot. ClickFunnels gives you the ability to set up membership sites for the products you sell. It’s not super fancy but it gets the job done without having to learn yet another online tool.
ActiveCampaign
When I first started my business, I signed up for MailChimp (which was the cheapest email automation software at the time) and never really looked back… until this year when I got more savvy about segmenting my audience and creating better workflows.
After considering the options, I made the move to ActiveCampaign which ended up being surprisingly easy. So if you’re considering making the switch, no need to sweat it.
I know that I’ve barely scratched the surface with what you can do with AC but here’s what I love so far:
- The visual workflow. I’m a designer so I’m VISUAL. It really helps me to see the flow of my funnel because just seeing a bunch emails on the backend can get really confusing.
- Audience segmentation. There are SO many possibilities. You can literally group your contacts based on any info you might have – and use it to tailor content to specific segments of your audiences. This comes in REALLY handy if you love quiz funnels like I do.
- One click subscribes. I love this feature. If you’re promoting a new training to your list, they can sign up for it by simply clicking a link rather than having to put in their info again. People love when you make it easy for them.

MemberVault
Over the years I’ve test drove a few of the membership hosting sites but I was never super happy with any of them. So for a long time I just stuck to ClickFunnels… until I discovered MemberVault.
What I love:
- It’s free for up to 100 members. This is fantastic if you’re just getting started. You get all the features until your membership or course is profitable. But even at $39 a month, it’s still affordable for most.
- It integrates with everything you’re already using. I was worried that I’d be forced to use their order forms rather than ClickFunnels. This is important to me because on other membership site platforms I’ve used, I’ve lost sales because order pages weren’t loading or credit card payments wouldn’t go through. Plus, I like to keep it simple by keeping my funnel on one platform.
- It’s super simple to set up. The platform is intuitive and you can have your course membership site set up in as little as a few hours.
- Page layout and course structure. The layout is clean and it’s super simple for your customers to navigate the course without getting confused. Plus, everything is fully customizable to match your brand.
